Therefore, high quality levels in the composition of the compound (raw materials and recipe) as well as an optimum compound dispersion (processing) is required. Through close monitoring of work flow and process performances, KRAIBURG is committed to improve the performance and effectiveness of the quality management system with the goal to achieve the highest level of product and service quality. Automated production processes and storage of relevant data from each process step, such as raw material testing data, mixing and other processing parameters as well as testing date of final goods make sure a full traceability. Moreover, each batch is tested according to the customer’s specification. Among the standard release tests are rheology, viscosity, hardness, density and tensile strength.

About 10 % of our employees work in research & development, process engineering and quality assurance. This guarantees a stable premium-quality, maximum process reliability and particularly a production process which is economical and reproducible. Thousands of formulations and testing data in our database as well as rich experience of our chemists makes the selection of the right compound for your application easy and fast. But not only the recipe is decisive, it is also important to make sure a high-quality level using advanced mixing equipment, processing control and laboratory equipment. Priority Number 1 is to use best quality raw materials from selected suppliers. Via incoming inspection, we also make sure consistency of quality. For this we’re using not only standard techniques like viscosity, melting point, humidity etc., but also modern physical-chemical measurement methods such as TGA (Thermal Gravimetric Analysis).
As one of the first Compounding facilities in the world, KRAIBURG Rubber Suzhou has installed a clean room, according to ISO 14644-1 Class 6 (equivalent to US FED STD 209E Class 1000) into its production facility. The clean room contains two fully equipped mixing lines with open mills, batch-off and one open mill compounding line. This enables us to produce compounds under extremely clean conditions that can be used in many High-Tech applications such as:
Every single compound which is produced in our clean room, is subject to the highest standards of inspection and quality assurance and will be accompanied by an inspection certificate from our laboratory. We have an advanced traceability system in place, that enables us to track every production step from final compound, backwards to the lot-numbers of each individual raw material batch.

RELASTEC 是 KRAIBURG 在德国东部拓展业务的第一家公司。
Gezolan AG 在瑞士 Dagmersellen 成立。仅三年后，KRAIBURG 决定将这一业务理念拓展至瑞士，即利用再生橡胶制造新产品。GEZOLAN AG 随后成立，总部位于瑞士卢塞恩州的 Dagmersellen。

Establishment of KRAIBURG TPE GmbH & Co. KG with its own production plant in Waldkraiburg. From the ground-breaking ceremony on March 1, 2001 to the official opening on October 20, 2001, it took less than one year to complete the production building for Thermoplastic Elastomer compounds.

Establishment of Gummiwerk KRAIBURG RELASTEC GmbH in Salzwedel. RELASTEC, established in April 1991, opened a new production hall on July 2, 1993 with a production area of about 1200 m² for the manufacture of insulating materials. RELASTEC was the first company in which KRAIBURG expanded into Eastern Germany.

Establishment of Gezolan AG in Dagmersellen/Switzerland. Only three years later it was decided to expand operations with this business idea in Switzerland, where recycled rubber was used to manufacture new products. GEZOLAN AG was established with headquarters in Dagmersellen, in the Swiss canton Lucerne.

At KRAIBURG, the first steps toward processing old rubber into new products were successful. Since KRAIBURG saw great market potential in this segment, a company in Tittmoning was acquired, which became Gummiwerk KRAIBURG ELASTIK GmbH.

Production begins at Gummiwerk KRAIBURG Austria Ges.m.b.H. & Co. in Geretsberg, Austria. The geographical proximity and the good market opportunities there were ideal for establishing a separate production site in Austria, since the “high customs wall” made exports to Austria unfeasible. In August 1964 the “Sängergut” estate in Geretsberg, Austria, 57 km from Waldkraiburg, was bought at auction and converted into a rubber factory: Gummiwerk KRAIBURG’s Austria.

The history of Gummiwerk KRAIBURG began on October 22, 1947. In that year, Friedrich Schmidt senior began producing rubber compounds in Kraiburg – Hart, using rather limited resources and operating under very difficult conditions. While the beginnings of Gummiwerk KRAIBURG are rather humble, a solid foundation was laid for the future success of the KRAIBURG Group. Thanks to the tireless work and commitment of the founder’s sons Peter and Fritz A. Schmidt, sales and production increased year on year.
